HEAD COACH POSITION – WILLING 2 NINJA (W2N)

Join Our Team and Lead the Next Generation of Ninjas!

Location: Armstrong, BC

Start Date: May 26, 2025 (or sooner)

At Willing 2 Ninja (W2N), we’re on a mission to help kids build strength, resilience, self-confidence, and friendships through fun, challenging ninja obstacle courses. As our Head Coach, you’ll play a crucial leadership role in empowering students and guiding our coaching team to create an exceptional environment where kids thrive.

What You’ll Do

As Head Coach, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our ninja training classes, ensuring both safety and an engaging experience for all participants:

  • Lead with Purpose: Deliver warm-ups, cool-downs, and create meaningful discussions that bring our Willing 2 Values to life
  • Inspire Young Athletes: Model our core values – be brave, face failure, be kind, do your best, and have fun
  • Track Progress: Document each child’s journey, celebrate their wins, and provide constructive encouragement
  • Maintain Safety: Ensure all protocols are followed and create a secure training environment
  • Facility Management: Open and prepare the gym, set up obstacles, and ensure the space is clean and ready for action
  • Parent Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for families, addressing questions and concerns
  • Team Leadership: Guide the coaching team and lead end-of-shift meetings to continuously improve our programs

Compensation

$20.00-$27.00 per hour

  • Starting at $20.00 during 90-day probationary period
  • Increasing to $23.00-$27.00 based on experience and skill level
  • Regular performance reviews with opportunity for wage increases

Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:00-7:15pm (after school shift)
  • Tuesdays: 9:00am-12:15pm (homeschool classes – not running during summer)
  • Summer Camps: 8:30am-11:15am or 8:30am-2:15pm
  • Occasional Saturdays: Birthday parties (schedule varies)

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership Presence: Confidence in speaking to and leading groups of children and staff
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to connect with kids, peers, and parents
  • Problem-Solver: Adaptability to pivot plans and navigate challenges with ease
  • Growth Mindset: Focus on continuous improvement and empowering others
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to move freely, demonstrate obstacles, hang on bars, and lift 25 pounds unassisted
  • First Aid Certification: Current certification or willingness to obtain it

Beneficial Experience & Training

  • Experience coaching or working with children ages 2-14+
  • Athletic or fitness background
  • First Aid certification
  • Camp leadership experience
  • Background in gymnastics, parkour, climbing, or obstacle course training
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team
  • Event coordination or program management

At Willing 2 Ninja (W2N), we’re on a mission to help children ages 2-14+ build strength, resilience, self-confidence, and friendships through fun, challenging ninja obstacle courses. As a Ninja Coach, you’ll guide young athletes through their journey while creating a supportive, energetic environment where kids thrive.

What You’ll Do

As a Ninja Coach, you’ll combine hands-on coaching with leadership responsibilities:

  • Guide Young Athletes: Lead small groups through obstacle courses, demonstrating skills and providing personalized encouragement
  • Deliver Program Elements: Conduct warm-ups, cool-downs, and lead engaging group discussions that reinforce our Willing 2 Values
  • Create Connections: Build relationships with each child, celebrating their progress and helping them overcome challenges
  • Track Progress: Take notes on each child’s achievements for our comment cards, highlighting their unique strengths
  • Maintain Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are followed throughout classes and activities
  • Facility Preparation: Help set up and arrange obstacles to create dynamic, safe, and accessible layouts
  • Model Our Values: Embody the Willing 2 Values – be brave, face failure, be kind, do your best, and have fun
  • Re-engage and Redirect: Use positive encouragement to keep kids focused and participating

Compensation

$18.50-$23.00 per hour

  • Starting at $18.50 during 90-day probationary period
  • Increasing to $18.50-$23.00 based on experience, skills, and leadership capabilities
  • Regular performance reviews with opportunity for wage increases

Schedule

Potential Shifts: (Flexible scheduling available – you won’t work all shifts)

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:15-7:15pm (after school shift)
  • Tuesdays: 9:30am-12:15pm (homeschool classes – not running during summer)
  • Summer Camps: 8:30am-11:15am or 8:30am-2:15pm
  • Occasional Saturdays: Birthday parties (schedule varies)
